মডিফায়ারের নিয়মসমূহ

১ Modifier with Noun

Rule-01: Pre-modify the noun with an adjective.

Example: He was a great poet.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে একটি এডজেক্টিভ (বিশেষণ) বসিয়ে নাউনটি সম্পর্কে অতিরিক্ত তথ্য দেওয়া। এখানে 'great' শব্দটি 'poet' কেমন তা বোঝাচ্ছে।

Rule-02: Pre-modify the noun with a noun adjective.

Example: Television programs are very entertaining.

ব্যাখ্যা: যখন দুটি নাউন পাশাপাশি বসে এবং প্রথমটি পরের নাউনটিকে বর্ণনা করে, তখন তাকে নাউন এডজেক্টিভ বলে। এখানে 'Television' শব্দটি 'programs'-কে মডিফাই করছে।

Rule-03: Post-modify the noun with an appositive.

Example: Nazrul, our national poet, won the attention of everyone in his early childhood.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের ঠিক পরে কমা (,) ব্যবহার করে ওই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর পরিচয় দেওয়া। 'our national poet' অংশটি নজরুল সম্পর্কে অতিরিক্ত তথ্য দিচ্ছে।

Rule-04: Post-modify the noun with a past participle.

Example: Courses run by the Open University are shown on BTV.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের পরে ভার্বের Past Participle (V3) ফর্ম বসিয়ে নাউনটির অবস্থা বোঝানো।

Rule-05: Pre-modify the noun with a determiner.

Example: Some dishonest businessmen use poisonous chemicals in food.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে Determiner (যেমন: some, all, any) বসিয়ে পরিমাণ বা অস্তিত্ব নির্দিষ্ট করা।

Rule-06: Pre-modify the noun with an article.

Example: However, watching TV has become an addiction for many.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে a, an, বা the ব্যবহার করে তাকে নির্দিষ্ট বা অনির্দিষ্ট করা।

Rule-07: Pre-modify the noun with a possessive.

Example: He wrote ceaselessly until the death of his poetic flair.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে possessive (যেমন: my, his, her, their) ব্যবহার করে মালিকানা বোঝানো।

Rule-08: Pre-modify the noun with a demonstrative.

Example: People should be refrained from drinking water of those tube wells.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে demonstrative (যেমন: this, that, these, those) ব্যবহার করে বস্তুটির অবস্থান বা দূরত্ব নির্দেশ করা।

Rule-09: Pre-modify the noun with a quantifier.

Example: There are many villages in our country.

ব্যাখ্যা: নাউনের আগে সংখ্যা বা পরিমাণের শব্দ (যেমন: many, much, a lot of) ব্যবহার করা।

২ Modifier with Verb

Rule-01: Post-modify the verb with an adverb or adverbial phrase.

Example: He wrote almost in every branch of Bengali literature.

ব্যাখ্যা: ভার্বটি কী উপায়ে বা কতটুকু ঘটছে তা বোঝাতে ভার্বের পরে adverb ব্যবহার করা।

Rule-02: Pre or post-modify the verb with an adverb.

Example: People mainly depend on agriculture.

ব্যাখ্যা: ভার্বকে বিশেষিত করতে মূল ভার্বের আগে বা পরে adverb বসানো।

Rule-03: Post-modify the verb with an infinitive phrase.

Example: He composed his songs to inspire the people.

ব্যাখ্যা: ভার্বটি কেন করা হচ্ছে—সেই উদ্দেশ্য বোঝাতে 'to + verb' (infinitive) ব্যবহার করা।

Rule-04: Post-modify the verb with a present participle phrase.

Example: Government is trying to mark the tube wells having arsenic.

ব্যাখ্যা: ভার্বের সাথে ing যুক্ত করে অন্য কোনো চলমান কাজ বা অবস্থা নির্দেশ করা।

৩ Modifier with Adjective & Others

Rule-01: Pre-modify the adjective with an intensifier.

Example: His songs are very melodious.

ব্যাখ্যা: এডজেক্টিভের আগে very, quite, extremely-এর মতো শব্দ বসিয়ে তার মাত্রা বা তীব্রতা বাড়ানো।

Rule-02: Post-modify the adjective with an infinitive.

Example: Now, we are able to raise natural gas from underground.

ব্যাখ্যা: এডজেক্টিভের পর 'to + verb' বসিয়ে কাজের কারণ বা সক্ষমতা বোঝানো।

Rule-03: Use a prepositional phrase to provide extra information.

Example: The books cater to the needs and interests of the students and teachers.

ব্যাখ্যা: বাক্যের শেষে বা মাঝখানে preposition দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া শব্দগুচ্ছ ব্যবহার করে তথ্য যোগ করা।

Rule-04: Post-modify the adjective with 'enough'.

Example: Soon it was high enough for the crow to drink.

ব্যাখ্যা: কোনো এডজেক্টিভের পরে 'enough' বসিয়ে পর্যাপ্ততা বোঝানো।

Rule-05: Use a gerund.

Example: So, ensuring food safety is a must today.

ব্যাখ্যা: ভার্বের সাথে ing যোগ করে তাকে বাক্যে নাউনের মতো ব্যবহার করা (gerund), যা কোনো কাজের নাম বা প্রক্রিয়া বোঝায়।
